When I was recommended to watch Akame Ga Kill I didn't know what to expect, but after the first chapter, I was convinced that it is a great story with great character development. Each chapter is full of surprises and you never know where the ending will take you once you're there.
About the story:
This anime has a great plot, which is about a corrupted imperial government and what the people are willing to do to survive and end these difficult times. This way, they created a group of people with special abilities and weapons specialized to murder the main threats of the ones who manipulate the emperor, who is an innocent kid that believes there is no corruption and vandalism. The integrants of Night Raid know killing is wrong no matter the reason for it, and they accept their destiny and the consequences of it.
The setting and the weapons of Akame Ga Kill:
Another thing that they did perfectly is that the Anime is set in a world where there exist different kinds of beasts, and people use the special ones and combined them with the best materials they could exist to create unique weapons called "Teigus". The Teigus could be many things such as accessories, blades, armors, and even biologic Teigus that obey their users and each has a different use like poisoning the enemies, transforming yourself in an advanced armor, granting ice powers, and so on depending on what materials and beast parts they are created.
Characters:
Many characters of the series experience great development in their pasts and in the present, especially one of the main protagonists who is Tatsumi. As he is the newest member of the group, he had to learn a lot from their partners and live the reality of the difficult situation they are having, where they will experience some heartbreaking deaths of their loved ones. The integrants of Night Raid are: Akame (Teigu: Murasame), Tatsumi (Teigu: Incursio), Mine (Teigu: Pumpkin), Leone (Teigu: Lionelle), Sheele (Teigu: Extase), Lubbock (Teigu: Cross Tail), Bulat (Teigu: Incursio), Najenda (leader of the group), Susanoo (A biological Teigu who obeys Najenda), and Chelsea (Gaea Foundation).
A very different ending from the manga:
This Anime is one of the best ones I have seen, but I really would have liked to see the end of the manga too. Both have many differences in how they end. Maybe the anime version is a little bit realistic according to the consequences of war. If you want to see a different story than normal anime and don't like that the series is so long, this is a great option because you will never know when a surprise and a full turn of the series is going to happen.
